I love using natural products for my family. So I mostly DIY things that we use for our bodies and for cleaning at home.
I don’t put make up on my face and I don’t use any chemicals to clean my face. Being an essential oil user, I decided to make my own facial oil.
WHAT’s an Essential Oil?
Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that retain the natural smell and flavor, or “essence,” of their source.
In this DIY, I use Rosehip Seed Oil, Coconut Oil and Frankincense Essential Oil.
Rosehip Seed oil
Rosehip Seed Oil is well known for its ability to regenerate tissue, improve skin texture, and reduce scars of all types if applied daily over time. It is used in formulations for surgical scars, burns and marks. It is also one of the best oils for wrinkles and ageing skin. It moisturizes and hydrates. Although it is heavy for massage, it shines in rich nutritive crèmes, lotions and facial oils. You can use it full strength or as little as 10% in a blend successfully. – Rae Dunphy Aromatics Ltd.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil have benefits for our skin, including reducing inflammation, keeping skin moisturized and helping heal wounds. It also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect skin from harmful bacteria.
Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense Essential Oil have great benefits for the skin and its known as the “King of Oils”. It is said to treat dry skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, age spots, scars, and stretch marks.
I think these three combined together will greatly benefit my skin.
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon Rosehip Oil
- 5 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
Instruction:
Put all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Then put the bowl(with mixture) in a bigger bowl or pot with little hot water to melt the coconut oil. Mix and transfer into a glass container with lid.
Your facial oil is ready for use.
