Lately, because of the pandemic and all other stuff that happens around the world, we may become lonely, depress, hopeless or afraid. I sometimes feel that way, and it makes me worry about the future. But thank God, there are people that God uses to encourage me.
I am so thankful to God for having a God-fearing mother. Even though she’s so far away from me and my family, I know she’s always praying for all of us.
I got a call from her yesterday and I got so much encouragement from her. So happy that though she have pain on her body, she’s still thankful to God and can still give me words of wisdom and advices on so many things about being a mother.

SEEKING GODLY WISDOM
Who can we trust?
Where can we go to seek wise counsel?
- GOD
For our every need, God has the answer. He is the first one we should seek when we have a need. All we have to do is humbly seek Him in prayer and He will show us the way. And we should directly go to His Words, to see what instructions we have to follow.
The bible is our life’s manual that will help us to navigate through life. We can get Godly wisdom and reminders from reading it.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
PSALM 32:8
- PASTORS
After praying and reading God’s word, if we still have questions and we need help, we can go to our Pastor. They are God’s instrument too to help us in your spiritual life. Pastors are source of Godly wisdom and discernment. We can ask them questions, and they can pray for us.
Obey them[pastors] that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. Hebrews 13:17
Hebrews 13:17
- PARENTS
Another source of wise and Godly reminders are our parents. Our parents are the ones who loves us the most, and wants the best for us. They can give us advice and share their valuable knowledge base on their experiences. And they can impart to us, whatever they have learned in life. They are a blessing, so we must not disregard them or ignore their teachings.
Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.
Proverbs 23:22
- OTHER CHRISTIANS
In seeking Godly counsel, we must be careful in taking advices, even from other Christians. We must choose people that we really know that we can trust. We don’t just broadcast our need to everyone, we must prayerfully choose the right person. Your closest friend, your prayer partner or your small bible study or prayer group, people around you that will help, pray and support you.
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Proverbs 15:22
We need Godly wisdom and reminders everyday. Our brains are being polluted with all information, knowledge and false teachings. Sometimes world knowledge sway us away from the truth, so we must guard our heart and mind. Seek God first, pray and read, meditate His Words, then get advice from God’s people around us.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 11:14:
Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
