Party Idea: Bake your own cake

Everybody loves cake on every party. It seems like a party is not a party without a cake.

Would you believe my daughter’s 7th birthday cake is still at home (She’s almost 12 now). It became part of our home decoration. It was a barbie themed cake that was custom made for her.

It was so adorable made by a very good cake decorator. It’s like so beautiful that it will break your heart to cut up and eat.

I’ve noticed on parties that singing happy birthday and blowing the cakes are left on the later part of the party. That’s why sometimes cake is left out. On parties that I’ve been to, not too many people eat the cake. And sometimes the host just bring home the whole cake.

And I have observed that the decoration of the cake doesn’t matter to the kids. As long as there is cake, whatever kind it is,they are happy. Only parents are the ones that gets impressed with very pretty cakes.

For sure those themed cake and custom made cakes are really pretty but also much costly.

I suggest that for birthday cakes, bake your own rather than ordering them. Or if you must order, buy the simple inexpensive one or choose cupcakes.

One option is to buy or bake plain cake and let your kids decorate it with frostings and sprinkles. Kids will love that.

And for other party foods, instead of catering or ordering foods, try making your own. Not a great cook? You can follow great recipe cooking tips on you tube and you can search Mr. Google. Also you can asked close friends and relatives with the cooking and preparation.

You won’t believe how much money you’ll save if you bake your own cake and prepare your party foods at home.

I know some people won’t mind buying all the party foods and cake, but for some its not. Let’s face it throwing a party is getting costly and if you don’t plan, you’ll break your wallet and your bank.

For your next celebration, try preparing simple foods and the not so expensive cake. Make your guest feel comfortable and give them a great time at your party, that’s the most important thing.
