THE AFTERMATH OF HOLIDAYS

THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR IS OVER!

Everyone is getting back to normal, to our usual day, our regular self.

But what did Christmas brought you, what about new year? Did you experience joy and peace during the holiday season? Did you feel the love and the warmth of the season?

Let’s look back a little… How many of you shop with the crowd at the mall and the grocery store to prepare for food and decorations. Did you go extra mile to clean the whole house from top to bottom to present the best image of you and your family to your guest? Did you cook extravagant meal or buy nicer gift for others. Sometimes much nicer than the gifts you buy for yourself.

Did you spent a lot and stressed out too much before and during the holidays?

Sometimes we are too busy, busy preparing, busy decorating, busy impressing others that we really neglect to acknowledge the season.

Its a season of love, not of things, not of gifts, not of food, not of party.

Season of spending time with our family, with people that we love. CHRISTMAS IS A TIME TO LOVE.

December was really busy for everyone. Even kids are busy for many things to celebrate the season, at school, at church and at home. Kids even get overwhelmed with so much to do. But are all of the things we do, we prepare really, really necessary to have a happy holiday?

I think Christmas became the most stressful time of the year.

It is even the most wasteful time of the year.

We are focusing on the season, but not really on the reason.

Now what, after Christmas and New Year what has happen to us. What’s the aftermath:

WE GAIN WEIGHT. We all added extra weight because we ate too much during holidays. And know we have issues on how to loose the weight we gain. And we still have lots of leftover food that we might be eating for maybe a month or two.

WE OVERSPENT. We spent recklessly. We sometimes spend money that we really don’t have. Overuse our credit cards and know we are left with more stress.

WE CREATED TOO MUCH WASTE. We made lots of waste from gift wraps, packaging, food and drinks, decorations, use of electricity. This sometimes are things we don’t think about, waste that are not good for our environment. Have you think about the waste of food that we made?

LEFT WITH UNWANTED GIFTS. Now there are gifts that will be lying around for the whole year and we will never even use it. Or sometimes we wait for the next holiday to re-gift the gift that we received.

BACK TO REALITY. Holidays are cheerful with all the parties, decorations and gifts. But after the season, we are back to the same problems we had. Back to the same fears and anxiety. Its like the season patch up our problem for a little while. We got carried away with the sparkle of lights of the season, we got distracted from our everyday issues. Its like we mask ourselves but deep within we hide our real self.

After holidays, some people are still sad and more depressed. Because for some, its only a temporary happiness. Some never experience the real happiness, the true peace and joy of the season.

Evey year, after every Christmas we will still be experiencing the just only season happiness. Unless we really celebrate the reason, the reason not the season.

LETS NOT FOCUS ON HOW WE CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS BUT ON WHY WE CELEBRATE IT.

LET’S CELEBRATE THE REASON NOT JUST THE SEASON.

LET’S CELEBRATE JESUS.
