Foods are expensive and food prices is always raising up. But there are some ways we can save on our grocery bills monthly with planning and a little sacrifice.

Here are some ways to save on our food expenses.

  1. Prepare a grocery list and stick to it.
  2. Plan your meals for the week before you shop and buy whats on your menu.
  3. Shop only once a week. If you shop several times a week, you’ll tend to spend more.
  4. Clean up your fridge once a month. Use up what you have before buying more.
  5. Buy generic brand groceries instead of the branded ones.
  6. Don’t shop on an empty stomach. You’ll end up getting things you don’t usually buy.
  7. Buy less canned and package convenience food. Add more fruits and vegetables.
  8. Stock up on groceries that are on sale.
  9. Package the food to preserve and watch for expiry dates.
  10. On buying new food, don’t buy too much. Get the smaller package to try it first.
  11. Buy only the things you need and can afford.
