Do you go to church every Sunday?
Do you only go to church when you feel like it?
Or you regularly attend before but stop going for some reason?
Or being at church is totally foreign to you and you are wondering why other people do go to church?
I was born going to church every Sunday, i rarely miss a a day of church when i was young. I love Sunday school and even though we have to walk to church which is a bit far from our house our family still go to church.
I remember going to Sunday school, learning action songs, memorizing bible verses and learning bible stories. I enjoyed coloring our little booklets.
Not only Sunday’s but i remember going to church on some weekdays for Bible study, Prayer meeting and other church activity.
I love church and up to this day, I still go to church though there were days that I’m not able to go.
I read of a lady, who never missed church her whole life. Wow, what an accomplishment.
But why do people go to church? Why others don’t go? Is it important?
BUT WHY GO TO CHURCH?
IT’S THE EXAMPLE OF JESUS CHRIST
The Bible says that our Lord Jesus Christ always go to a place of worship. Its in observance of one of the 10 commandments. And as a follower of Christ, were supposed to do what He has done. We should go to church if we are seriously a Christ follower.
TO CONTRIBUTE TO OTHERS
The book of Hebrews says we should not give up on meeting with one another. But we should encourage one another with words of hope. Having fellowship with other follower of Christ build your faith stronger.
And being involved in church, you can contribute to others too. You can share your talent, your experiences and your testimony to build others up. You can minister to people and be used by God in whatever gift you possess.
A POSITIVE EXAMPLE
Regularly attending church is a great example for others specially to our children. Christian values and great character are being develop when kids grow up in church.
Nowadays, kids pick up lots of stuff from media and technology. And even adults gets information that we don’t need. But if we choose to go to church, we’ll be able to get more important things that we need in life.
For parents who have kids like me, it is very important to bring our children to church.
And going to church, makes as a good example to everyone around us. Having a strong commitment to a better life, set a positive example for others to follow.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO FELLOWSHIP
Some people say that church is like a hospital. Some people who go there wounded and hurt. Others are carrying too heavy burden and loads in life. Some are facing various kinds of challenges; health problems, financial issues, conflict within our families.
Everyone of us needs encouragement. Life is hard and difficult, and church is the caring place to go to find help and encouragement.
When my youngest brother went to be with the Lord, our church family was one of the source of big encouragement and help.
Having church fellowship is a great opportunity to get involve in serving others. You will know people deeper and will help you be in service in the church family and also in your community.
Being actively involve in a church makes you surrounded with people who care. People who will be there for you when you need help.
IT IS IMPORTANT FOR GROWTH
Everyone of us needs to grow spiritually. And regularly attending church will make you grow. Church will motivate and inspire you to love, live and give.
I think spiritual growth is so much hard to attain if you will not go to church. You need the fellowship, and you need others to be able to grow.
I know personal time with the Lord praying and reading the bible is a way to grow. But you still need to be with other people to grow.
The church will help you grow deeper in the Lord, follow Jesus and find your purpose in life.
I THINK THERE ARE MORE REASON WHY WE NEED TO GO TO CHURCH.
But for me, i go to church because I love the Lord and i want to follow Him. I want to honor the Lord and worship Him for His great love and faithfulness to all of us. And I go to church to know Him more, His will and great plan for me.
Don’t make Sunday, just a regular day. And don’t make Sunday just a regular Sunday, that you feel its just another way to get up, sit, listen and fellowship with other.
Make it a extra special day, Its in fact THE LORD’S DAY.
I am encouraging you to come to church regularly. Don’t come occasionally and just when you feel like it. Make it a habit to regularly attend church. Make it one in your priority list. Not going to church, is a moment in time that when gone, is gone forever.
Whatever belief you have or group of religion you belong to, i encourage you to find a church family, a group that you can be a part of.
There’s always something competing with our time and there are other things that could hinder us from attending church. But there are really, really good reasons to attend church regularly.
Churches now offer different time that you can attend. And there are various activities that church that you can attend to.
If you don’t have a church that you regularly attend. Find one and be actively involve.
