WHY DO WE KEEP USING SINGLE-USE PLASTICS?

Its been a year now when I decided to be Eco friendly and do my part to be more concern about our environment. Little by little ,though its only a small part from me, I know it makes an impact.

But I don’t know why most people don’t really care?

We can see it on the news and on social media and most organizations are spreading information about the effect on our life, on wildlife and in the environment. But people still don’t care.

I know most people know and are aware of the harm of using single use plastic And yet, we keep on using it.

I think it is almost impossible to avoid using them. Because of the convenience it brings and because using them becomes our habit.

Why , why can’t we stop it and help save our planet.

I think most people think that avoiding them won’t make any impact at all. Thinking that the problem is so huge that our little act won’t make any difference.

Also, we can’t stop it because its everywhere. Companies keep on producing them.

And maybe because some people are not well informed. They don’t have the social awareness of what really the bad effect it brings.

Or some people really just don’t care.

What is your own reason?

Will all the facts we know work if we only learn it and not do anything about it? Or will you take a little step to stop using single use plastics.

I am trying on my own way to do it and influence someone to do the same.

Let’s post for a moment and think of ways, simple ways we can avoid single use plastics.

  1. Use reusable grocery bags. Bring them when you buy groceries, they are not reusable unless you use them again and not just leave them in your home or in your car.
  2. Bring reusable water bottles. Humans buy about 1,000,000 plastic bottles per minute in total. So just bring your reusable water bottles and you have help reduce this pollutant.
  3. Refuse straws on your drinks. Or bring your reusable straws.
  4. Bring your own coffee cups. Avoid Styrofoam coffee cups, they are not recyclable.
  5. Buy products with less packaging or no packaging at all. It will make a big difference.

The best way to fight single-use plastic pollution is to reduce your personal plastic consumption!

There are other ways to do it but the important thing is we decide and start doing it.

IF WE DON’T ACT KNOW, OUR PLASTIC POLLUTION WILL GROW AND GROW AND OUR FUTURE, OUR KIDS WILL SUFFER. HELP SAVE THE PLANET, DO YOUR PART!
